Director of Curriculum and Instruction

Start Date: July 1, 2017

Primary Function:

·        To provide leadership, supervision, and direction to district staff and administration in the development and implementation of curriculum from PreK to 12th grade

·        To assist the Superintendent in providing the

best possible educational programs for the Haddon Heights School District

·        To supervise instruction on a daily basis and to provide district staff with techniques and resources, including professional development, needed to enhance the overall instructional program

 

Required Certification:

·        Principal Certificate or School Administrator Certificate

 

Preferred experience with:

·      Evaluation of staff using Marzano evaluation tool

·        Minimum of two years administrative experience

·       Minimum of five years classroom teaching experience

 

 

Performance Responsibilities:

·        Coordinates the development, articulation,

implementation, and revision of all district curriculum

·        Directs and supervises the instructional staff

in the development, review, and implementation of curriculum

·        Directs and coordinates all curriculum related technologies and the integration of those technologies into the instructional program

·        Supervises and evaluates the District Technology Coordinator and technology staff

·        Assists the Superintendent in presenting the curriculum to the board, administration, staff, and the general public

·        Directs and coordinates the New Teacher Induction and the New Teacher Mentor programs

·        Assists and coordinates the development and implementation of appropriate staff development activities in support of curriculum and instructional programs, including workshops and in-services

 

·        Prepares the budget for the instructional program

·        Coordinates state and federal programs in compliance with state and federal regulations

·        Completes mandated state and federal grants and reports

·        Prepares reports and grants as requested by the Superintendent

·        Directs the activities of district staff members in the performance of their duties as authorized by the Superintendent

·        Assists the Superintendent in the screening, hiring, training, assigning, and evaluation of district staff

 

·        Directs and supervises the review and adoption process of textbooks and other instructional media

·        Supports the Principals in the review of instructional performance through observation and evaluation of staff

·        Manages the Marzano online evaluation tool and generates reports as requested by the Superintendent

·        Serves as District State Test Coordinator

·        Serves as the Title I Coordinator

·        Serves as the Title IX Coordinator

·        Serves as the Jr./Sr. High School Affirmative Action Officer

·        Serves as the School Choice Liaison

·        Attends all Board of Education meetings and Board of Education committee meetings as assigned by the Superintendent

·        Oversees all school counseling services from PreK to 12th grade

·        Supervises and evaluates guidance counselors

·        Ensures that appropriate student records are maintained in the guidance department to track student progress

·        Evaluates and reviews quantity and quality of counseling services provided

·        Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent
