SECURITY/SCHOOL VISITORS
The school doors are secured at 8:15 a.m. All students and parents will enter the building at the Garden Street Entrance. The Garden Street entrance is secured by a camera/buzzer system. All visitors will be asked for identification and the nature of their business. At that time you will be admitted into the building. School doors will be unlocked at 7:15 a.m. Students arriving prior to that time will have to wait outside the building. During cold or inclement weather, the cafeteria will be open at 7:00 a.m. If a teacher requires a student to come early, a pass must be issued to gain early entrance into the building.
Visitors must always report to the Attendance Office to sign in and receive a visitor pass to be worn during their stay. Visitors are expected to sign in and out as they leave the building. Students who are not involved in after school supervised activities are not to be in the building after 3:00 p.m.
Former students may not visit during the school day unless they would like to meet with a specific teacher (during the teacher’s prep time). They are welcome to visit after 2:42. If they are meeting with a teacher, they become the teacher’s responsibility. The teacher will be notified to pick up the visitor in the Attendance Office. Once the meeting is over the teacher must walk the visitor to the Attendance Office and the visitor must then leave the building.
It is highly suggested that former students schedule an appointment prior to arriving. It may be possible to meet with a teacher without a prior appointment; however, this will be at the discretion of the teacher.
Visitors are not permitted to wander the school in search of someone to see. At no time should visitors interrupt classes in session.
Unauthorized visitors are not permitted on school grounds during regular school hours and may be subject to legal prosecution.
Security cameras are used throughout the entire school building, all entrances, and outside premises.
