Dear Parents, Guardians, and Staff,

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) recommendation of students remaining 6 feet apart has changed as of March 19, 2021. Their new recommendation is for all students to remain at least 3 feet apart in classrooms where mask use is universal. As a result of this change in guidance, we can now have more students in our classrooms for in-person instruction. The next phase of our plan is listed below.

Effective Monday, April 19, 2021
All students can come to school each day, Monday through Friday (no cohort rotation). In a majority of the classrooms we will be able to maintain the new CDC 3 foot recommendation. The building principal will notify any classes where the 3 foot recommendation cannot be maintained before Thursday, April 1, 2021 so parents can make the decision as to whether to send their child to school or select the full remote option. All parents have the option to have their children remain fully remote for the remainder of the school year. Additional specifics are listed below.

  • At the elementary schools, students in 1st through 6th grades will be in-person Monday through Friday with an increase in time from 8:40 am to 2:20 pm. Lunch and recess will be included in the day.
Kindergarten: Monday through Friday from 8:40 am to 12:44 pm.
Pre-K3: Monday through Friday from 8:40 am to 11:05 am.
Pre-K4: Monday through Friday from 11:55 am to 2:20 pm.
Preschool disabled (PSD): Monday through Friday from 8:40 am to 1:30 pm.
  • At the Jr./Sr. High School, all students can come to school each day Monday through Friday (no cohort rotation). Their in-person time will remain from 8:00 am to 12:42 pm.
  • With funds from the recently released American Rescue Plan we were able to purchase individual student tri-fold plastic barriers for every student in the district for their desk. They are expected to arrive on approximately April 19, 2021. Whether they arrive by the anticipated date or not, the new phase will still start on Monday, April 19, 2021.

2021 - 2022 School Year
Students in grades 1st - 12th will receive full day in-person instruction Monday through Friday as they did prior to the pandemic. Students in Pre-K and Kindergarten will return to their pre-pandemic schedule as well.

Please contact your building principal with any questions regarding the new schedule. The building principals will also send you a correspondence prior to Thursday, April 1, 2021 with additional information.

Sincerely,

Michael W. Adams
Superintendent

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Staff,

Unfortunately, the past year has been filled with many challenges that everyone has had to overcome. As we continue to adapt to a new normal, we would like to provide you with some tips and resources when identifying a mental health emergency. If you notice the following symptoms, please seek help immediately. Please note this list does not include all criteria or possible red flags.
